July 7, 2010 —  New and updated integration connectors for ALM platforms, integration with Twitter, and enhancements for Windows 7 are features included in the latest release of task management tool Tasktop Pro 1.7.

Announced June 23 by Tasktop Technologies, the creators of Eclipse Mylyn and provider of task-management solutions, the tool builds on the release of Mylyn 3.4, the latest version of the ALM integration suite for the Eclipse IDE.

Tasktop Pro can now connect to Bugzilla, IBM Rational ClearQuest, IBM Rational Team Concert and ScrumWorks Pro. Updated connectors are also available for JIRA and Rally.

“Tasktop Pro now provides integrations for nearly all of the leading agile project-tracking tools, and connects them seamlessly to open-source solutions,” said Tasktop's CEO Mik Kersten in a statement.

For social media collaboration, Tasktop Pro’s Twitter integration enables broadcasting of active tasks and the viewing of tweets related to tasks. According to Tasktop’s release, this feature is useful for social collaboration and awareness in community-driven development, such as open-source projects.

Enhancements for Windows 7 include server synchronization progress monitoring and access to frequently used functionalities from the taskbar. Tasktop Pro also includes improved installation of all certified connectors from its centralized dashboard, and upgrades to the presentation of task lists for better team awareness and communication.

Tasktop Pro 1.7 is available now for US$99 per user, or as an enterprise edition for $199 per user. A free trial can be downloaded at the company's website.
