Runtime Revolution 4.0 splits into three tiers

November 30, 2009 —
Runtime Revolution has updated its rapid development and deployment environment to version 4.0. Revolution 4.0 still utilizes the RevTalk programming language, but it is now available in three different versions. These new versions are targeted at developers based on skill level, and the new revMedia edition is the first to be offered free of charge to developers.

The other two new versions of Revolution 4.0 are revStudio and revEnterprise, the former being targeted at more standard developers and the latter being aimed at enterprise users. revEnterprise also includes an internal database and advanced security features not found in revStudio.

“The last two years have seen the most impressive growth in our business, pointing to a correlation between a tough global economy and the resourcefulness of professionals who need to do more with less,” said Kevin Miller, Runtime Revolution CEO.

“Our goal is to enable rapid creation of applications, and that’s exactly what we’re doing with Rev 4.0. With a free version and Web plug-in, anyone can begin writing software right away, empowering students to model and explore the real world, businesses to excite customers with new products, or organizations to improve productivity with customized tools.”
