Colligo updates SharePoint software

June 24, 2009 —  Colligo has updated its SharePoint product family with the release yesterday of Contributor File Manager, for SharePoint/Windows Explorer integration, and Contributor Uploader for Outlook, which ties SharePoint to Microsoft Outlook.

These two new products join Contributor Client and Contributor Pro, which provide desktop integration and offline access to SharePoint, as well as Add-in for Outlook.

Contributor File Manager links user files to SharePoint document libraries, so local folders become “SharePoint aware,” enabling users to access metadata, content types, and document templates either online or offline, according to the company.

Contributor Uploader for Outlook gives users the ability to bring Outlook content, such as e-mail and attachments, into SharePoint document libraries and folders, and to browse libraries and lists. The Uploader automatically captures metadata for future search and classification, the company says.

New features in the release include greater ability to manage attachments in SharePoint with Add-In and Pro. Users upload attachments to SharePoint and replace them with links, reducing e-mail size. Also new is the ability to drag and drop complete folder structures from a desktop into SharePoint. The software automatically creates necessary folders and sets metadata values on each file.
