Nastel keeps an eye on SLAs
By

June 5, 2009 —
Nastel is attempting to make it easier for organizations to measure Service Level Agreements (SLA) around application performance with a new product called TransactionWorks.
Nastel, which makes application performance solutions, made TransactionWorks generally available on May 5.
TransactionWorks maps transaction flows between Java EE or MQ applications. It also monitors transaction volumes and performance metrics, and compares them to SLAs. Transactions are mapped to an organization's IT infrastructure to simplify the resolution of performance problems, said
Charles Rich
, vice president of marketing and product management.
It also integrates with Nastel's flagship
AutoPilot M6
governance suite for service-oriented architectures, and it can leverage its modules for monitoring and managing infrastructure components.
AutoPilot supports IBM WebSphere MQ, WebSphere Application Server, WebSphere Business Integrator and WebSphere Enterprise Service Bus. Both products instrument application servers and messaging products, and do not tag or modify messages, Rich said.
"AutoPilot was operational management; this is transaction management," he added. "We now provide both operational and transactional intelligence in one pane of glass, plus business context."
