Fiorano reduces Java Message Service latency

April 14, 2009 —
A new version of FioranoMQ peer-to-peer Java Message Service messaging middleware significantly reduces latency and works better with .NET applications, Fiorano says.

FioranoMQ 9.0.1, released on Wednesday, has optimized latency algorithms that scale in proportion with the number of connections, according to CEO Atul Saini. "We now have stable 2 to 8 millisecond-latencies from five to 1,000 concurrent connections," he said.

Additionally, the middleware's C++ and C# native runtime libraries have been updated to work over high-latency networks, such as satellite networks. There has also been an additional 5% increase in Publish/Subscribe benchmark performance, Saini added.

FioranoMQ underlies the SOA infrastructure company’s Enterprise Service Bus, which treats messages between services as events. The ESB is asynchronous and does not rely on a Business Process Execution Language engine to coordinate services.
