December 22, 2008 —  EdNotes: Community Awards Open

Nominations are now open for the Eclipse Community Awards, awarded each year to "individuals and technologies that make Eclipse a stronger community," according to the foundation's website. Awards are granted for individual performance and for the best product or technology.

Categories for individuals are Top Ambassador, Top Committer and Top Contributor. There's also a Most Prolific Newcomer Evangelist category. You can learn more about it at www.eclipse.org/org/press-release/20081208_awards.php. Nominations close Jan. 30, and the awards will be presented at EclipseCon 2009.

That annual event, which brings together the community for a big Eclipse love-in, will take place in March. Yesterday, the foundation posted the conference technical program of more than 170 long- and short-talk sessions at www.eclipsecon.org/2009.
