David Lyman named publisher of SD Times

David Lyman has been named publisher of SD Times, the twice-monthly newspaper of record for the software development industry. Lyman joined SD Times in 2006 as regional sales manager and was named associate publisher in August 2007.

As publisher of SD Times, Lyman oversees print and online advertising sales, including a wide variety of e-newsletters, webinars, supplements, banners and lead-generation programs. He also coordinates all marketing programs to build the SD Times brand and expand the reach of the business.

Ted Bahr, president of BZ Media, which publishes SD Times, said, “As associate publisher, Dave Lyman led the SD Times sales team to increase ad pages by more than any other publication in the high-tech industry in 2007 [out of 77 publications measured by IMS: The Auditor]. This year, the team has held that gain amongst challenging economic conditions. Dave's extensive online experience has also been a large benefit to SD Times.”

Lyman said, “It’s a privilege to lead the most respected and dynamic publication brand in the software development industry. The sales, editorial and Web teams that I work with on SD Times are terrific, and the mix of products and services we offer is the best in the industry.”

Before coming to BZ Media, Lyman was national sales manager at Fawcette Technical Publications, which was recently acquired by 1105 Media.  Lyman is a graduate of the Isenberg School of Management at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.
