Fujitsu will establish a company in North America called Fujitsu North America Holdings to strengthen its business base in the region. The company said the move would solidify the ties among Fujitsu Consulting, Fujitsu Computer Systems and Fujitsu Transaction Solutions. Farhat Ali has been appointed president and CEO of Fujitsu North America Holding. Ali previously held that role at Fujitsu Computer Systems.

New Products

Curl has released the Sales Force Dashboard, which displays information for use by regional sales managers. The application can transform and aggregate data from a subset obtained from Salesforce.com. Curl said the application stores data using SQLite and uses standard Curl display components that have few lines of code.

Multicore application development company RapidMind has launched add-ons to the RapidMind platform to deploy applications like image reconstruction and analysis for ultrasound and CAT scans. The company said RapidMind Imaging Extensions let medical imaging and health-care companies build manageable applications around multicore processors from Advanced Micro Devices and Intel.

Aonix, a provider of embedded virtual machines, has added cross-platform Motif GUI application development to its object-oriented user interface management system environment for 64-bit architectures. TeleUSE 4.0 offers 64-bit TeleUSE runtime libraries and the associated C/C++ header files used in the construction of 64-bit application executable files.

AppDNA, a provider of application compatibility testing for Microsoft environments, has added Quick Start Report and other features to AppTitude 2.6. Quick Start Report uses a traffic-light format to provide a status overview of application compatibility. There is also an Overview Report feature for viewing an application’s status across Microsoft platforms.

Data virtualization company Composite Software’s Information Server now operates with Hewlett-Packard’s Neoview enterprise data warehouse platform. The Information Server provides the data virtualization software, and Neoview can handle hundreds of terabytes of data and “massive” data queries, Composite said.

Digital Map Products, a provider of Web applications that embed geographic information systems, has integrated its product line with SQL Server 2008. Company executives said it had previously used SQL Server to store spatial data but had been required to embed proprietary components. That limited the accessibility of Digital Map Products’ spatial platform and corresponding data.
