Good Data uses AWS in hosted service beta

A startup is hedging its bets that small and medium-sized businesses will entrust their data warehouses to the cloud in return for the convenience of a hosted business intelligence solution.

On Tuesday, Good Data began an external beta test of its hosted business intelligence service. The service provides analytic and reporting tools in addition to Web 2.0-style collaboration.

The service uses Amazon Web Services as its host, according to the company. A second beta of Good Data will become generally available in October, and the final version will go live toward the beginning of 2009, spokesperson Mike O'Connell said.

Information about pricing and support is forthcoming.
