NEW PRODUCTS
Application performance management company Nastel Technologies has created AutoPilot M6, an application performance and transaction management suite for TIBCO’s Rendezvous messaging software for data distribution applications. AutoPilot M6 automatically collects data about the TIBCO Rendezvous server and its components, like services, routers and transports to monitor transaction performance and operational metrics.

Embedded computer system company Eurotech has launched the Eurotech Software Framework (ESF), a middleware offering that uses a Java-based software framework for application development. ESF can integrate device drivers and has a high level of portability across hardware platforms, according to the company.

Bluewolf, a SaaS consulting firm, created the OpenSupport program that helps businesses modify and adapt Salesforce.com and other SaaS offerings to their own needs. With OpenSupport, organizations have a monthly allotment of tech support hours that can be used for maintenance and administrator aid, or for software development projects like AJAX development and data management, Bluewolf executives said.

Software development company InstallAware has added Visual Studio integration with its setup-authoring tool that deploys products, patches and Web updates. InstallAware 8 creates Windows Installer setup packages with interoperability for Windows Installer 4.5, Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5, Microsoft SQL Server Express 2005 Service Pack 2 and other technologies.

K Desktop Environment, or KDE, has released version 4.1 of its namesake network transparent KDE desktop environment for Unix workstations. Some of the features in the new version include the Personal Information Management suite, KDE-PIM, with its KMail e-mail client; the KOrganizer planner; the Akregator RSS feed reader; and the KNode newsgroup reader.

ASG has added tighter integration with its automation platform in the latest version of its configuration management database. MetaCMDB 3.2 has stronger integration with ASG’s Automation Center, new critical service discovery tools and a new adapter engine to aid in IT management, according to the company.

Enterprise software company Infor released the newest version of its PLM Optiva product life-cycle management offering, making improvements to modeling and production simulation. The new version of the product has an Advanced Formula Editor that enables companies to assess iterations and model multiple formulas and versions of a product.

Virtualization company Xenocode has updated its code obfuscation and deployment product, Postbuild 2008 for .NET, for Windows developers. It now allows developers to convert .NET binaries into native executables that run on any Windows desktop and also offers projects to be combined into a single output assembly so the deployment of .NET applications can be copied.

Agile project management company VersionOne created open-source integration between its V1 agile project management products and the Microsoft Team Foundation Server 2008. This integration helps .NET development teams incorporate agile development features into their existing infrastructure, according to Microsoft executives.

C++ enterprise software company ZHMICRO has created a server that can handle multiple service requests through a single port. The ZHMICRO Internet Server gives software developers the ability to create multi-service applications for mobile devices that require transparent access to remote enterprise servers, the company said.

Sanjay Jha was named co-CEO of Motorola and head of the company’s mobile phone business. Jha spent the last 14 years at chipmaker Qualcomm, and most recently served as the company’s COO. Motorola plans to make its mobile phone unit a separate company in the third quarter of 2009, and Jha is slated to run that independent unit. Greg Brown, Motorola's other co-CEO, will head Motorola’s communications division.
