Wind River Introduces Common Networking Platform

Email    print
June 14, 2007 —  Wind River Systems announced Tuesday the launch of a new networking technology portfolio, Wind River Advanced Networking Technologies. The new package makes use of technology from the company's March 2006 acquisition of Interpeak, and is available for both VxWorks and Wind River Linux, with the idea of simplifying application development by providing a common support platform for network functions including IPv6, management, quality of service, routing, security and cryptography, and wireless networking.

The new VxWorks 6.5 offers Wind River Advanced Networking Technologies as a built-in feature; other VxWorks 6.x setups can add the technology as a component. A single add-on bundle is available for Wind River Linux 1.5 and earlier releases.
