Bugzilla 3.0 Released

May 14, 2007 —
The Mozilla Foundation last week released version 3.0 of Bugzilla, its free and open source bug tracking system. The new version is the first major revision to the software since version 2.0 was released in 1998. In 3.0, Bugzilla adds support for XML-RPC, bug submission via e-mail, custom fields and mod-perl support for enhanced performance. The new edition can be found online at www.bugzilla.org/releases/3.0/release-notes.html. Bugzilla supports MySQL and PostgreSQL. The software is written in Perl, and requires support for that language inside of the Web server used to host Bugzilla.
