BZ Media Announces First Windows Phone Developer Conference

Email
January 12, 2012 —  BZ Media LLC today announced WPDevCon — the Windows Phone Developer Conference, the first major independent event for software developers 100% focused on the emerging Windows Phone mobile software market.

The three-day conference will take place in the San Francisco Bay Area from Oct. 22-24, 2012. WPDevCon begins with a morning of intensive three-hour workshops, with the remainder of the event filled with technical classes and key
notes. More than 50 technical classes and workshops will be offered at the conference.
WPDevCon will include an exhibition hall for companies selling products and services for Windows Phone developers. More than 500 software developers are projected to attend WPDevCon (www.WPDevCon.net), along with more than 30 exhibitors and sponsors.

The conference is owned, produced and managed by BZ Media LLC, which publishes SD Times, the leading magazine for the software development industry. BZ Media also produces AnDevCon: The Android Development Conference; iPhone/iPad DevCon, an independent conference focused on Apple’s mobile platforms; and SPTechCon: The SharePoint Technology Conference.

WPDevCon is an important educational resource for anyone building or distributing Windows Phone apps, either through device makers or the Windows Phone Marketplace. The focused conference is designed so that all developers can attend — and can even bring their entire development or marketing team, thanks to special group discounts.

Ted Bahr, President of BZ Media and Conference Director of WPDevCon, said, “Windows Phone is the next red-hot mobile platform. Forward-looking developers need a place to come up to speed on how to build those apps. WPDevCon is the first dedicated conference for Windows Phone developers – and the best place to bootstrap or extend your Windows Phone app effort will be at WPDevCon.”

Classes and workshops at WPDevCon fall into three topic areas:
WP Essentials: These technical classes and workshops are for all Windows Phone developers, and cover all programming topics.

WP Enterprise: These technical sessions cover topics specific to building and managing apps for employees, business customers and partners, such as back-end integration with corporate applications and the Cloud.

WP Marketing: These business-oriented sessions cover everything you need to know about the Windows Phone marketplace, including app marketing and distribution.

The WPDevCon Call for Speakers is available online at www.WPDevCon.net. For sponsorship information, or to inquire about the exhibit hall, contact Adam Teichholz, +1 631-431-4158 x114 ateichholz@bzmedia.com.

Windows CE was first conceived for phones in 1990. If it's still "emerging," I think you're in for a long wait.
