XML database software provider Altova has added the ability to create XBRL taxonomies and generate XBRL documentation to a new version of its XMLSpy XML editor. XMLSpy 2010 has a redesigned scripting environment and forms editor for accessing and interacting with the XMLSpy API, and there is also new integration with the WSDL (Web Services Description Language) editor.

Application monitoring company AVIcode has integrated its monitoring and management software with Unisys Portugal’s systems integration consulting services. AVIcode executives said integration between both companies’ products allows Unisys customers to diagnose problems like performance degradations, code failures, and security problems.

The Agile Alliance has added six new board members and named three board members as officers. Laurent Bossavit, Esther Derby, Cesar Idrovo, Henrik Kniberg, Diana Larsen, and J.B. Rainsberger will help try to grow the alliance. Bossavit, Idrovo and Rainsberger are software development consultants, while Derby, Kniberg and Larsen are agile coaches that work with teams to adopt agile and lean practices. Meanwhile, Larsen, along with existing members Todd Little and Tamara Sulaiman, are now executive officers with the alliance. The Agile Alliance is a non-profit organization focused on advancing agile software development principles and practices.
