Intalio Opens BPMS Tooling

December 14, 2006 —
Redwood City, Calif.-based Intalio released its Business Process Management System as an open source project on Tuesday. The software will be called the Intalio BPMS Community Edition, and has been released under the Mozilla License. The software suite can generate executable processes using the Business Process Execution Language and a BPEL execution engine. The software, while free, is supplemented by an enterprise edition that includes service and support offerings in exchange for a yearly fee.

"Intalio just crossed the marks of 100 paying customers and 5,000 organizations using our software worldwide," said Ismael Ghalimi, founder and CEO. "Making Intalio|BPMS Community Edition available under an open-source license should accelerate our growth."
