Composite Refreshes Information Server

October 15, 2006 —
Composite Software today is rolling out a major release of its namesake Composite Information Server. CIS 4.0 adds improved metadata management and easier access to XML data within SQL. Users can now import data from other third-party modeling tools, including Embarcadero Technologies' ER/Studio and ER/Win.

The new version also offers users the ability to use XPath transformation mapping between disparate XML schemas, and improved caching of parameterized procedures and Web services calls, with the addition of transaction caching. CIS 4.0 runs on 64-bit Red Hat Linux, and SUSE Linux in both 32- and 64-bit environments, in addition to Unix and Windows systems.
