Sections and Departments

Embedded & Wireless News: A special section within the main news area of SD Times, it covers significant developments in the high-growth embedded systems and wireless markets, which are growing rapidly in the enterprise development world.

Guest Views: SD Times invites members of the software development community to share their personal points of view. If you are interested in contributing to the Guest View section, read the submission guidelines.

Events Calendar: The calendar lists industry events, such as conferences and trade shows, of general interest to software development managers. It does not list sales/marketing events or training/certification courses. A more complete version of the calendar is available online.

Special Reports: Every issue has an in-depth look at a trend or technology, how it is being implemented, and how it is changing the world of the software and application development manager. For more information about them, see the editorial calendar, or contact David Rubinstein approximately six to eight weeks before the cover date.

News Briefs: This is a regular news section with short news items organized into four parts: Companies, Products, People and Standards.

Regular Columns

Industry Watch: SD Times editor-in-chief David Rubinstein writes this lively column that examines business models of successful and not-so-successful ISVs (independent software vendors).

Integration Watch: Industry analyst Andrew Binstock writes about Service Oriented Architecture and other business integration technologies enabling enterprise distributed computing.

Windows & .NET Watch: This regular column, written by Larry O'Brien, comments on important developments specific to Microsoft’s Windows, SQL Server and .NET platforms.
