Are you a developer in NYC? Feel like you're missing out on all the cool dev opps on the West coast? Well, there might be opportunities in your neck of the woods. General Assembly, a self-proclaimed "urban campus for entrepreneurs seeking to transform industry and culture through technology and design," is hosting a "hackathon" of sorts -- NYC is looking for a new Web presence and your design could fit the bill.
On July 30 and 31, GA will host this event designed to give developers, companies and others interested in technology a chance to design the homepage for government site of New York City. Photographers and product managers are also welcome. If you're interested you can sign up via Launchrock here or fill out the Google spreadsheet here.
Do you think crowd sourced design is the wave of the future? Would you participate in this sort of collaboration contest? Share your thoughts!
