HTC, creators of Android-capable smartphones, launched HTCdev yesterday, a program designed to foster a community to help mobile developers create new applications utilizing HTC OpenSense SDK.
The OpenSense SDK allows devs to use software and hardware innovations on the HTC phones to create tightly integrated native applications for Android. The community is for individuls and enterprises, and will be houses on HTCdev.com, scheduled to launch in Summer 2011. OpenSense will provide APIs and sample coding for 3-D display models.
Do you think a developer community is something other mobile providers will continue to do in the future? Do you think it's something they have to do? Will you participate? Share your opinion here.
