Catch, a Web-based application that allows end-users to sort information they read on the Web in a Twitter-like hashtag system, has a developer program that allows developers of iPhone and Android applications to include these capabilities in their mobile applications.
Andreas Schobel, CTO of Catch Notes, said that Google integrated Catch with it's I/O applications so that conference attendees could tag, add a video or other media clip and write notes on portions of the Web presentation and application itself.
He added that this can be used in cooking applications to mark recipes or as a way to catalog what you ate in a given day.
The personal lifestreams allow end users to fully customize the Web, or mobile application, for their needs.
Other platforms wills be added in the future, according to Schobel.
Do you think you would use an API like this? Or would you rather build your own search capabilities?
