Microsoft this morning introduced an integration pack between Visual Studio Team Foundation Server 2010 and Project Server 2010, which will enable project managers to work more collaboratively with development teams. According to a blog post this morning by Christophe Fiessinger of the Project Server team, the integration pack is designed to "enable teams to work together more effectively by providing up to date insight into portfolio execution, alignment with strategic objectives, and resource utilization of software development projects  by leveraging the quantitative data stored in different systems." He said the release also automates the sharing of project information across teams, even those using different development methodologies, and enables teams to track timeline progress in tools such as Visual Studio, Project and SharePoint. The company also announced minor upgrades to both Visual Studio 2010 and Team Foundation Server 2010 with SP1 releases. The VS 2010 SP1 release includes support for IIS and for the Project Server Integration Pack, while the TFS SP1 release fixed some issues with build automation and core services.  The integration pack can be downloaded at the Microsoft Developer Network site.
