The Honeycomb SDK has been updated to include a new API as of yesterday afternoon – the Fragment Framework will help ease the problem of fragmentation in the OS all the way down to version 1.6, as explained by Google’s blog on the subject.
In early February, Google blogger Dianne Hackborn, who is a software engineer at the company, wrote about the Framework API and many developers, including Java developer Andrew May, founder and owner of ADM Software, which is creating “Thingstr,” a Twitter application for the Android platform, believed it would be coming in the next updated, code-named Ice Cream, about six months down the line.
According to Google’s Android Developer blog, it will only help developers working on OS kits 1.6 and above to create tablet-compatible UI. They’ve included a new LoadManager and several other classes as well as a fully updated SDK available here.
We want to hear from you, developers and Android enthusiasts! Any thoughts on this Framework API update? Share them here or on our social media profiles on Facebook and Twitter.
