Got an e-mail this week from the folks at Countersoft, who created the Gemini project management software, telling me about their new task list-sharing service, Project Patterns. The software, according to the company, "lets users define and share project task or check lists, receive feedback and make improvements. A pattern is any set of tasks or checks that leads to the achievement of a specific goal." Phil Vallender of Countersoft told me today that the site launched in December, for the sole purpose of helping

teams succeed. "We've given Gemini away for free to open-source projects, and with Patterns, we just like to see people succeed," he said. The patterns consist of action plans, workflows, to-do lists, task organizers or any other step-by-step methodology that has been proven to lead to a successful end result. Further, registrants at the site can upload their own practices for getting projects done, and that can help evolve the patterns on the site, Vallender said.
