What began as a way to help developers maneuver around the MSDN Web site has evolved into the All-In-One Code Framework, a library of snippets that already has been downloaded more than 300,000 times. The brainchild of Microsoft support engineer Jiailiang Ge, the library was built from what he calls "developer pain points." He had noticed people were calling with the same or similar problems, so he decided to put code samples and solutions into the library, which is hosted on CodePlex. The are more than 500 entries in the library, based on actual customer questions, and each offers instruction on how to develop code for a specific Microsoft technology. Ge and his team of engineers in November launched a free code sample request service, designed to solicit topics for code samples from developers. Visitors to the site can vote on those sample topics, and Microsoft engineers pick the topics with the top votes to provide code samples.
