Perhaps driven by Apple's iAds initiative or more interactive ads, recent data from mobile advertising optimization platform Smaato shows a dramatic increase in click-through rates on ads by Apple's iOS device users, while Android decreased in July. Findings also show that Blackberry users barely click on ads, while Symbian users click on more ads than any other device user.
In the United States, Apple's OS raised from fifth to third place after nearly doubling click-through rates (CTR) from May. Symbian and Windows operating systems were ahead. Worldwide, Symbian again took the lead for more CTR, with feature phones in second, Windows in third and Apple in fourth. Both in the United States and worldwide, Blackberry had the least CTRs in seventh place.
