Location-based technology provider, WaveMarket, is offering a cool opportunity for developers to create innovative location-based service applications that can locate any mobile device (both feature and smart phones) via GPS and other technologies. Launching the contest, Veriplace Developer Contest, for the first time this week, developers are given the chance to build on Veriplace's network-based API and create SMS, Web, mobile Web, voice-based or mobile apps that can instantly locate over 150 million devices across Tier 1 U.S. carriers. Winners will be awarded cash and prizes (an Apple iPad, to be exact). Applications for certification must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. ET on July 1, 2010. The winners will be announced on July 26. Get started thinking today and good luck!

For registration and more details about the contest check out: http://developer.veriplace.com/contest.
