VS 2010 beta 1 now available

Microsoft has made Visual Studio 2010's beta bits publicly available for download. The company has been cagey about its final release date, but I believe that it could ship before the end of the year. Here are links to SD Times' coverage of its features:

Code focused features for C++ developers
A "Lab Edition" will ship with designers for Web applications
The F# language will ship out of the box
Runtime intelligence and anti-tampering features are included in every edition
Greatly expanded ALM and testing features
IBM and Oracle Database DSPs are available
"Oslo" modeling tools in Microsoft Team Foundation Server (TFS)
.NET 4.0 workflow improvements, changes to WCF, and "Dublin" for deploying applications
It also has a WPF-based user interface that is extensible with plug-ins
Database professional and team developer roles have been merged into a single product.

Your article listed above on Runtime Intelligence already covers the new features included VS2010 (and included in this beta release) for
* the injection of feature and session monitoring (streaming usage data to a developer-specified endpoint),
* the injection of application expiry dates, and
* the injection of tamper defense and notification.
