It sounds contradictory, but the 'Ed' in Tech Ed may be more targeted this year because fewer people came. Microsoft said that they were 7,000 attendees—please excuse my skepticism. Far fewer people were here, but hard times filtered out the attendees.
I overheard a few folks chatting about how the sessions are better this year due to the fact that organizations sent higher-caliber people to learn something specific. The questions that they asked presenters improved the learning experience. I sat in on a few sessions and came to that conclusion
