CouchDB 0.90 plops down on Couch

by Alex Handy 03/31/2009 03:19 PM EST

Damien Katz, who should be congratulated for his more mundane sort of progeny (congrats!), should now be lauded for CouchDB 0.9.0. It's out today. He's having quite a prodigious month! Careful, some things break backward compatibility. Changes below:

  • Modular configuration
  • Performance enhancements for document and view access
  • More resilient replication process
  • Replication streams binary attachments
  • Administrator role and basic authentication
  • Document validation functions in design documents
  • Show and list functions for rendering documents and views as developer controlled content-types
  • External process server module
  • Attachment uploading from Futon
  • Etags for views, lists, shows, documents and attachments requests
  • Miscellaneous improvements to build, system integration and portability
