New JMS Adapters for .NET
By David Rubinstein

November 15, 2007 — Java-to-.NET interoperability is a common requirement in large organizations with heterogeneous IT environments. JNBridge is doing its bit to help with the release earlier this week <Oct. 30> of two new JMS adapters—one for .NET and one for BizTalk Server.

The Java Message Service Adapter for .NET leverages Microsoft's WCF (Windows Communication Foundation) Line of Business adapter framework, resulting in an end point that is consumable in .NET while the other end uses JMS to connect to any legacy platform that supports it. The adapter comes with a designer and integrates with Visual Studio so developers can create .NET clients with custom APIs that can be programmed against to connect to a JMS server, according to Wayne Citrin, JNBridge’s CTO. Metadata capabilities inside the WCF Line of Business framework lets users explore available queues and topics that can be baked in at design time, he explained.

The adapter for BizTalk Server 2006 supports both the original and the R2 release, according to a company presentation, and can connect BizTalk Server orchestrations to the JMS infrastructure.

Both adapters are built on JBridgePro, the company's flagship Java-.NET interoperability tool, which creates proxy .NET classes that mirror the underlying Java classes, Citrin explained.
