Andrew Binstock is the principal analyst at Pacific Data Works LLC in Silicon Valley, where he performs market and product analysis and writes white papers for private clients. He also is a senior contributing editor for InfoWorld, where he specializes in reviews of software-development tools and enterprise infrastructure. In addition, he writes about green IT technology for GreenerComputing.com.
Earlier, Andrew was in charge of global technology forecasts at PricewaterhouseCoopers. Before that, he was an Editorial Director at Miller Freeman, where he was responsible for Unix Review, the C Users Journal, and SysAdmin magazines. He first started writing about technology in the C Gazette, a code-intensive programming quarterly that he founded in 1986.
Andrew began his career as a software developer and contributes regularly to the open-source Platypus project (link to http://platypus.pz.org), a page-layout and typesetting tool for document generation. He has written or co-authored three books, including “Practical Algorithms for Programmers” which went through 14 printings. His two other books were published by Intel Press.
