Though Alexandra Weber Morales gained most of her in-depth experience in IT as editor-in-chief of Software Development Magazine from 1999 to 2006, she has always shared many interests with her technical readership: Intellectual curiosity, musical and composition skills, enthusiasm for Web- and user-centered software, and college education in multiple programming languages ranging from Scheme to C++. She is the proud winner of numerous editorial awards including Folio and Maggie awards in 2003, 2004 and 2005.
In addition to over 15 years' experience in journalism, Alexa enjoys bringing creative endeavors to fruition. Special projects she launched and directed during her 10 years at CMP Media included lucrative sponsored posters and webcasts, industry award programs, conference events and reader games. From 2006 to the present, Alexa has been a freelance portal editor for DevX.com, covering Intel, AMD and Microsoft. In 2008, she founded the Parallelaware blog, covering the trend of concurrent programming to improve software performance on multicore chips. She has also written whitepapers for clients ranging from CollabNet to FedEx.
A seasoned public speaker, Alexa also maintains a successful career as a jazz musician and multilingual songwriter. Read her (mostly music-oriented) blog, ThinkSong, at http://www.alexawebermorales.com/blogger.html.
