uTest, the world’s largest marketplace for software testing services,
today announced that it is expanding into localization and security
testing. This move creates the first end-to-end suite of on-demand
testing services for companies’ web, desktop or mobile applications.
uTest’s services – which previously included functional, usability and
load testing – now provides a convenient single source to companies’
testing needs across the entire software development lifecycle.
Today, nearly 1,000 social, gaming, retail, media and software companies
rely on uTest’s community of 40,000 professional testers from 178
countries as a critical complement to their QA processes to deliver
fast, reliable, and cost-effective testing results. Today’s announcement
comes as a direct result of these customers pulling uTest into new
areas of testing.
“After successfully completing thousands of testing projects for our
customers, uTest has evolved into a ‘one stop shop’ for real-world
testing across the entire spectrum of the software development,” said
uTest CEO, Doron Reuveni. “With our diverse community of testers,
performance engineers, security auditors, usability experts and more,
uTest is uniquely equipped to help companies create apps their users
love – from the start of the product lifecycle up through their launch
date.”
About uTest Security Testing
Additionally, uTest announced today that it has partnered with Veracode,
provider of the world’s only cloud-based application risk management
platform. By integrating Veracode’s automated application security
tools with uTest’s real-world security testing services, the two
companies will provide customers with unsurpassed protection against
security- or privacy-related vulnerabilities in their web, desktop and
mobile products.
“The combination of Veracode’s application security verification
services with uTest’s software testing solutions offers organizations a
more comprehensive approach to mitigating security risks across the
software development lifecycle,” said Pamela Cyr, senior vice president
of business development and strategic alliances of Veracode. “We’re
excited to work with uTest and look forward to developing this
relationship.”
The combined security offering features automated and manual penetration
testing that probes for a wide range of common vulnerabilities,
including XSS (cross-site scripting), SQL injection, buffer overflow and
other common attack vectors. Trusted and vetted security experts in
uTest’s community will use Veracode’s tools to help scrutinize
companies’ web and mobile apps for:
· Confidentiality. Does your application keep your private data private?
· Integrity: Can the data from your app be trusted and verified?
· Authentication: Does your app verify you are who you say you are?
· Authorization: Does your application properly limit user privileges?
· Availability: Can an attacker take the app offline?
· Non-Repudiation: Does your app keep records of events?
About uTest Localization Testing
Because every country’s language, culture, currency, taxes and standards
are different, uTest’s crowdsourcing model is uniquely suited to help
test how well a company’s products perform within every market. With
professional testers in 175 countries worldwide, uTest can quickly
assemble a team of native speaking testers who live in-market to verify
accuracy and context-correctness of content, or conduct complete
end-to-end localization testing of an application. The result is
applications that are prepared for success in foreign markets, are far
more accurate than the available translation tools; and faster and more
cost-effective than building an in-house team of linguists or hiring
traditional localization services to validate an app.
