NEW PRODUCTS
IBM Rational has released development tools for IBM’s new System i servers using the POWER7 processor. Rational Developer for Power Systems and Rational Team Concert for Power Systems help developers build SOA and Web 2.0 applications through a desktop GUI.

Embarcadero is offering two new ways to deliver its tools to developers. ToolCloud is lightweight server software that centrally provisions and manages Embarcadero products inside the corporate firewall. It offers centralized license administration, access control and on-demand tool access. InstantOn is an application virtualization system that lets developers run Embarcadero’s tools on their desktops without installing them, so no changes are made to the system areas of the OS or registry. Users can access the tools they need from anywhere on the network and from locked-down desktops.

Syncsort is now offering a clickstream data integration solution. The solution combines Syncsort's high-performance data integration software, DMExpress, with optional professional services and training. According to the company, the solution reduces the time, cost and effort required for integrating large amounts of Web data, and simplifies an organization's ability to analyze online visitor behavior via a clickstream data warehouse.

Apprenda, which makes the SaaSGrid software-as-a-service app server, is offering a new SaaSGrid API for Silverlight. This lets developers deploy Silverlight applications as part of a company’s multi-tenant SaaS environment.

CA has extended its Web access security technology to support Web applications and Web services hosted on JBoss Enterprise Middleware. CA SiteMinder and CA SOA Security Manager provide secure access management for applications and services deployed on JBoss Enterprise Middleware, including JBoss Enterprise Application Platform, JBoss Enterprise Portal Platform and JBoss Enterprise SOA Platform.

UPDATES
Syncfusion has updated its .NET component suite to add support for Visual Studio 2010 and .NET 4.0. Essential Studio 2010 Volume 1 also contains a number of other enhancements to its user interface, reporting and business intelligence editions. The improvements include performance increases for Silverlight and WPF grids, new access to Oracle data sources, and outputting Silverlight reports in native Excel, PDF and Microsoft Word formats.
