COMPANIES
Intrinsyc Software, a provider of software products for mobile and embedded devices, completed an engineering services agreement with Unitech Electronics, a manufacturer and supplier of Automatic Identification and Data Capture (AIDC) products. Intrinsyc developed a data collection terminal for Unitech on Windows Mobile and Windows Embedded CE. Unitech executives said Intrinsyc’s technology provided power management capabilities that will help it in the AIDC market.

Shunra Software, a provider of WAN emulation and software development testing products, has joined Microsoft’s Visual Studio Industry Partners (VSIP) Program. The VSIP Program provides technical and marketing help to members that have integrated their products with Visual Studio. The program has around 200 members, among them Altova, Borland Software, CA and JetBrains.

Computer programming contest company TopCoder will be holding its annual TopCoder Open, a contest that has nine competitions for software professionals. The contests center around algorithms, architecture, component design and development, along with other areas. The online competition starts this month, and finalists will be announced June 1–4. NEW PRODUCTS
AlertSite, a company that creates Web-based services and application products, has released a Web performance monitoring product that gives information on the availability, load times and response times of Web-based applications. InSite provides a customizable viewpoint on the availability and performance of enterprise applications, according to the company.

UPDATES
Adobe has created a full version of its LiveCycle ES Developer Express software for the Amazon Web Services cloud computing environment. LiveCycle ES is used to build PDF applications, and Adobe executives said developers gain a virtual, self-contained environment to test applications without having to install and configure LiveCycle ES.

Aldon has included new deployment capabilities in the latest version of its Aldon Lifecycle Manager software change management product. The capabilities make application redeployment easier, according to the company. Aldon Lifecycle Manager 5.4 lets users define sets of deployment targets so deployment scripts don’t have to be written.

Web application security company Armorize Technologies has released a new version of its CodeSecure static source code analysis and verification product. CodeSecure 3.0 has analysis capabilities for ASP.NET, Java/J2EE and PHP, as well as new reporting features to identify vulnerable entry points. There is also integration with Microsoft Active Directory for improved user and group management.
