Zeichick's Take: Deadlines, Deadlines Everywhere

February 21, 2008 —  Time is running out! There are four important deadlines for you, dear reader, which are worth calling to your attention.

First: March 1 is the last day for reader nominations for the SD Times 100. Every year, we invite readers like you to tell us about the leaders and innovators in the software development industry. That would be the people, the organization and the companies that advanced the art of software development in 2007. We’re looking for nominees that really made a difference through their words, their deeds and their bits.

Any reader of SD Times may submit a nominee for the SD Times 100, but March 1 is the deadline. The nomination form is online.

Second: March 1 is also the deadline for our “THE WORST OF 2007” awards. We’d love to hear who or what you consider to be the most influential anti-leaders and anti-innovators in our industry. Give them your best shot!

Third: We still have a few seats left at FutureTest 2008, the industry’s only conference focused on the future of software test and quality assurance. FutureTest 2008 will be held next week, Feb. 26-27, in Manhattan. If you’re really busy, you can register and attend just one day. I hope to see you there.

Fourth: While we’re on the subject of software testing, tomorrow is the Super Early Bird discount registration deadline for STPCon Spring 2008. The Software Test & Performance Conference is truly the finest test & QA training conference, with more than 70 classes covering a wide range of topics. STPCon is April 15-17 in San Mateo, Calif.  You won’t want to miss the great discounted rate.

On your mark, get set… register!
