Primavera expands range of ProSight data sources

September 26, 2008 —  Primavera Systems has released the newest version of ProSight, which helps organizations manage portfolio strategies and projects in the planning stages.

ProSight 7.5, released yesterday, can draw data from other sources, including Oracle and SAP databases, for more information on a project’s status. It can also better build relationships and links between projects.

“Dynamic lists expand executives’ ability to build and dynamically manage relationships between initiatives and the efforts that support them, such as phases, cost centers, and investment milestones,” said Maureen Clifford, senior product manager with Primavera. “Dynamic lists simplify and speed up the creation and management of information suited to a list format.”

Primavera executives said that with the current economic slowdown, it is important to have up-to-date information about investments and operations in order to make good business decisions. “CIOs and CTOs are going to be under a great deal of pressure to cut costs and ensure that critical projects are successful,” Clifford said. “[With ProSight], they can eliminate redundant projects that are supporting initiatives of limited value, identify strategic investments, and redirect resources to those initiatives and projects that are most important to achieving corporate goals.”

ProSight integrates with the Primavera P6 project portfolio manager, which focuses on helping projects get delivered on time, and Microsoft’s Project Server.
