Pegasus acquires AccuSoft imaging SDKs

Pegasus Imaging, a Tampa, Fla.-based digital imaging technology company, announced its acquisition of AccuSoft’s imaging software business.

The deal will have Pegasus take hold of AccuSoft’s ImageGear imaging SDK line and its NetVue document management software.

Pegasus executives said the acquisition will improve its market position as a provider of digital imaging software development. Jack Berlin, president of Pegasus, called the combined product lines a “formidable set” of imaging products.

“AccuSoft is one of the oldest, most well-established and well-respected names in the imaging SDK marketplace,” Berlin said. “They are maintaining a strong, healthy business, and the synergies were obvious. They have a strong tradition of excellence and we are similar in our philosophies.”

As part of the acquisition, AccuSoft’s employees have been rolled into Pegasus, and Pegasus has taken control of AccuSoft’s website.

AccuSoft imaging SDKs offer photo processing, medical imaging, the DICOM standard (Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine), and document imaging technologies. The SDKs also provide thin-client browser image viewing on platforms like Microsoft’s .NET, Silverlight, Windows Mobile, and 32-bit and 64-bit Windows, along with Linux, Mac OS X and Unix.

According to Pegasus, AccuSoft customers will be incorporated under Pegasus’ wing over the next three months and will receive a “high level of service” from its technical support group. Pegasus will collect feedback from AccuSoft customers on their product needs.

“Pegasus Imaging is committed to growing the imaging business,” said David Frischling, former vice president of operations and corporate counsel at AccuSoft; he now holds that position at Pegasus. “Our customers will continue to be well supported and will see many new options moving forward. I’ve seen a real focus on serving the customers, which will be critical during this next phase of growth. I am excited about the possibilities and opportunities this acquisition provides.”
