OpenLogic CloudSwing Adds Support for High-Volume Cloud Applications

February 22, 2012 — OpenLogic, Inc., provider of enterprise open source solutions for the data center and the cloud, today announced that it has added support for high-volume cloud applications and websites to its CloudSwing Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) solution. New capabilities include deploying a pool of servers, load balancing across servers, the ability to scale the application tier and database tier independently, application-level management and monitoring across servers and support for hosted databases including Amazon RDS.

A flexible and open PaaS cloud solution, CloudSwing offers complete customizability, enabling application developers to quickly deploy and operate cloud platform stacks using any open source or proprietary components on the cloud of their choice.

New features include:
· Companies can create scalable cloud applications by deploying a pool of web servers or application servers. CloudSwing also supports application-level monitoring and management across all of the servers.

· CloudSwing is the first PaaS solution to leverage native load balancing on multiple clouds, which enables users to preserve the freedom to run the application on any cloud provider at any time. CloudSwing leverages the native load balancing capabilities of both AWS and Rackspace.

· CloudSwing now allows users to flexibly configure application tiers and scale the application and database tiers independently.

· CloudSwing now provides support for Amazon RDS and other hosted MySQL databases. It includes two new LAMP stacks out-of-the-box: one that uses Amazon RDS for the data store and another that works with hosted or remote MySQL instances. These new stacks enable CloudSwing users to easily use Amazon RDS and other hosted MySQL services in their own customized technology stacks.
