New IntelliJ IDEA: Java 7, New Features, New Pricing

May 19, 2011 — JetBrains, the creators of intelligent, productivity-enhancing tools for software developers, have announced the public availability of IntelliJ IDEA 10.5, a free update for its award-winning IDE for JVM-based and polyglot development.

That is exactly what you get with this free IntelliJ IDEA update worth a full major release which is loaded with support for the latest technologies as well as further usability improvements.

While this release focuses on Java 7 support, we also worked hard on making the most common IDE operations easier to use. Some of these changes, such as new in-place refactorings and a reworked search/replace UI, made it to this release, while others will be available in version 11 later this year, said Max Shafirov, IntelliJ IDEA project lead.
